Description: Rarity: Miniature of an economic miracle;
Souvenir sculpture STUTTGARTER FERNSEHTURM, 1956, hand-turned from stainless steel, beautifully finished
Opened in 1956, the tower became the city’s landmark and marked the beginning of a new era in tower construction, both structurally and architecturally, as it was the first of its kind to be made of reinforced concrete.
In addition to the structural innovation, the successful commercial use of a restoration business and a viewing platform paved the way for a worldwide wave of tower construction.
Due to its outstanding structural significance, it received an architectural award as early as 1959 and in 2009 was awarded the title of Historical Landmark of Engineering in Germany by the Federal Chamber of Engineers.
It was also added to the list of cultural monuments in 1986.
